Alameda Marina

The transformation of Alameda Marina into a vibrant, mixed-use waterfront destination has been years in the making. GNU Group is proud to have contributed to this exciting project by designing a 12-chapter interpretive history walk along the shoreline, offering visitors a deeper connection to the area’s rich past.

The history walk celebrates Alameda’s unique maritime legacy while honoring the Native American communities who first called this land home. The design thoughtfully weaves in natural and reclaimed materials, including shells inspired by the local shellmound and wood salvaged from the marina’s original structures, creating a meaningful link between past and present.
