GNU Group partnered with Verde Design, Inc. to create a dynamic new Public Park Sign Standards program for the City of Newark. Designed to unify and elevate the identity of all thirteen parks across the city, the program provides a cohesive system that works seamlessly for both expansive destination parks and intimate neighborhood green spaces.

Beyond wayfinding and identification, the standards bring storytelling to the forefront. Each park will feature interpretive plaques that highlight its history and character, integrated into a new monument design that feels welcoming, consistent, and distinctly Newark. Together, these elements create a clear, memorable experience that celebrates the city’s parks as vital community assets in the heart of the
Bay Area.
