On the Boards: Merced Community College District / Campus Wayfinding Strategy

GNU Group is very pleased to have been selected by the Merced Community College District (MCCD) to develop a comprehensive pedestrian wayfinding signage program across both the Merced and Los Baños campuses. The initiative focuses on enhancing campus navigation, improving walkability, and creating a more intuitive and welcoming experience for students, staff, and visitors.
The project includes detailed site assessments of each campus, identification of key pedestrian decision points, and the development of a “street-name” style signage system that brings clarity and structure to the campus environment.
Building on GNU Group’s extensive experience with California community colleges and in close collaboration with District stakeholders, our goal is to create a wayfinding program that not only guides people efficiently, but also fosters a more connected and welcoming campus environment. We’re excited to support the development of the District’s next generation of sign standards!
